Tribute to Niku Kheradmand at the 13th Iran Cinema Celebration



 

According to the House of Cinema’s Public Relations, the honorary statuette of the 13th Iran Cinema Celebration will be awarded to veteran actress Niku Kheradmand for a lifetime of successful presence and impressive contributions to the acting scene.

Niku Kheradmand was born in Tehran in 1932. She started her artistic career in 1958 as a radio announcer and went on to become the voice of big screen actresses like Claudia Cardinale, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor and Fakhri Khorvash. She also played in many radio plays between 1963 and 1968, and hosted the TV show “An Introduction to Theater” in 1972.

Kheradmand made her big screen debut in “The Last Act” (1990), for which she received the Crystal Symorgh of best actress in a supporting role from the Fajr Film Festival. The award went to her again in 1992 for her performance in “The Toy” (1992). She was also nominated for the best supporting actress award at the 14th Fajr Film Festival for her role in “Gazelle”. 

Kheradmand’s other films include The Tale of the Fortunate Man (1990), The Quiet Home (1991), Travelers (1991), The Secret of the Clove (1993), Zinat (1993),  The Good Days of Life (1994), Another Look (1994), The Adventurous Journey (1996), Psycho (1997), Dandelion (1997), Rules of the Game (1997), Seven Stones (1997), Sharareh (1999), Unruled Paper (2001), Uneasy Hearts (2002), Breakfast for Two (2002), The Havana File (2004), Star Café (2004), The 50 Million Rial Proposal (2004), The Familiar Soil (2008).
