Annual General Assembly of the House of Cinema
The annual general assembly of the Iranian Alliance of Motion Picture Guilds was convened on second call on Wednesday July 15th in attendance of representatives from 26 motion picture guilds at the convention hall of the House of Cinema.
According to House of Cinema’s Public Relations, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour first gave a PowerPoint presentation to the general assembly on the one year performance report of the Alliance of Motion Picture Guilds. Next, Vice Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the 13th Iran Cinema Celebration Farhad Tohidi gave an account on the recent changes in the regulations of the 13th Iran Cinema Celebration, and also reported on the last three weeks’ sessions with the directors of statuette-holding associations and guilds to discuss the organization of the 13th Iran Cinema Celebration. Considering the limited timeframe before the celebration and on the recommendation of the event organization council (event coordination management and statuette-holding guilds) it was decided and approved by the assembly to celebrate this year’s National Day of Cinema in a noncompetitive format and as magnificently as possible.
After the election of the assembly’s board of directors (Naser Mamdooh, Amir Abedi and Zinat Reza), House of Cinema’s current Inspector’s Ebrahim Mokhtari presented his report as the third item on the general assembly’s agenda.
Moving on to the fourth item on agenda, Board of Directors presented a proposal regarding the hastening or delaying the next year’s elections of the board of directors in order to facilitate the arrangement of the upcoming Iran Cinema Celebration. The assembly unanimously decided to authorize the board of directors to hold House of Cinema’s next election by December the next year at the latest, thus eliminating the problems related to the organization of Iran Cinema Celebration which every other year closely coincided with Board of Directors’ election.
Later during the session, the assembly brought up the last item on agenda, which was the election of House of Cinema’s new Inspector. Votes were cast for the four running candidates Mohammad Sadegh Azin, Bahram Dehghani, Ebrahim Mokhtari and Masood Mimi. Consequently, Ebrahim Mokhtari was reelected as the Chief Inspector with 11 votes, and Masood Mimi as substitute Inspector.
In conclusion, House of Cinema’s Public Relations provided the media with the headlines of the House of Cinema’s performance report, which was presented at the assembly by Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour.
