Mojtaba Ra’I (1957)
A filmmaking graduate at Faculty of Film Theatre – Art University. His film debut, Man And Weapon, was his thesis, too. Beside writing and directing, he is teaching film directing. He has made 10 feature films, and some short and documentary ones, and also tv series.
Mojtaba Ra’I believes that, “God has given art perception, as a gift to each all of us. Being artist is not feasible, and you can not acquire such a thing. It’s just a grace. Art has been given to some, by God. He has bestowed such a talent and capacity to someone, so that he becomes Hafeiz. It’s not easy to becomes Hafiz. I believe that you will be successful, if only you have faith in what you are doing.” In all his movies, the pace is proportionate to the hidden meaning of it; for instance, in Man And Weapon – one of the most honest war movies – the pace is very fast. But in another movie of him, again proportionate to the subject matter, calmness and tranquility are dominating.
