| Seyyed Mohsen Hashemi Appointed Executive Deputy Director of House of Cinema |
Following a directive by Managing Director Mohammad Mehdi Asgarpour, Seyyed Mohsen Hashemi was appointed Executive Deputy Director of the Iranian Alliance of Motion Picture Guilds (House of Cinema).
Referring to Hashemi’s valuable experience and capabilities in management in different areas of art and culture and his impressive background in the cinema scene of the country, the directive describes the main duties of the newly appointed Executive Deputy Director as organizing the executive affairs of the House of Cinema for both levels of main organization and member guilds and associations, taking the resolutions of the Board of Directors to the operational level, and following up and acting upon the primary concern of the Alliance of Motion Picture Guilds with regard to livelihood, social security and future wellbeing of filmmakers.
Born in 1966, Seyyed Mohsen Hashemi holds an M.A. in Islamic Knowledge and Political Science. He has passed supplementary courses on middle management, financial and budgetary management at the Management and Planning Organization and also has a history of teaching at the universities of Payam-e Noor, Azad and Applied Sciences.
Hashemi has served as the President of the College of Applied Arts and Culture and Deputy Director at the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Isfahan, Founder and Managing Director of the Music Society of Isfahan, Program Manager for national thematic film festivals (2001-2003), Administration Officer at the Secretariat of the International Children and Young Adults Film Festival (2005-2006), Program Manager for Fajr International Film Festival (2005-2006), Director of Visual Arts at the Tehran Municipality’s Organization of Art and Culture (2005-2007), Executive Manager of Imam Ali (AS) Museum of Religious Arts (2006-2007) and Senior Advisor of the Film Museum of Iran (present).
Executive management and planning of the 1st Tehran International Sculpture Symposium (2006), 1st World Award of Monotheistic Religions (2006) and 1st Imam Ali International Painting Symposium, also the original concept, planning and project management for the Garden Museum of the Iranian Art are also among his successful management experiences.
